"If you really want to change the tech community in terms of diversity,
our public schools are exactly where you should be investing."

Commissioner Hydra Mendoza-McDonnell, San Francisco Board of Education

San Francisco Computer Science Collaborative

We are not in this alone. Across our great city, many organizations are already working towards a similar mission, and we want to facilitate greater communication and collaboration among them. We are excited to share what SFUSD is doing to strengthen PK-12 computer science education and how informal partners can support this work and each other.

Goals of this collaborative group include:
  • to communicate SFUSD’s initiatives and determine opportunities for external organizations to support these efforts
  • to foster community, coordination, and collaboration among SFUSD and community-based organizations
  • to utilize the knowledge, skills, and abilities of the collective to share best practices and solve common problems
  • to align services and support to better serve traditionally underrepresented populations of students
